Unique Identity

It's snowing daintily here at Dazd Central. Beautiful, serene and mesmerizing as it soothes the soul. I am reminded of a poem I wrote some years ago and posted here a couple of times.

Snowy Daydream

So beautiful yet so concise
Always unique and never two alike
Free to travel with the wind
Finding one another in the end
Swirls of wind give them flight
Well into the day and through the night
Continually they fall from the heaven above
Gently floating as if on wings of a dove
Sunlight through the clouds at last
Radiant perceptions the sun has cast
Creating a wonderland from the barren and cold
A beautiful scene before my eyes does unfold
Millions have arrived covertly with the night
Seemingly nonchalant with their impending plight
The sun warms the surrounding air
Forthwith delivering destiny without a care
Memories of this morning will appease my fears
Wondrous joys the snow yields each year.

Through My Eyes

As I sit and watch the sun set below the trees
As through the window comes a gentle breeze
I think of all my fears
And my eye weeps a single tear

I sit and watch the night take hold
My mind grows numb and cold
I’m not sure how many thoughts
But many a battle I have fought

Only a single thing through all of this
One thing I would truly miss
Someone like you by my side
My friend I trust to confide

My soul you see through my eyes
Never letting my mind drift to high
Always receiving that special hug
That lets me know I am still loved

For a fleeting moment I forget my fears
Wishing for the moment to last for years

Friday Post

I got nothing today...I have a post I'm working on but I'm not finished yet. Maybe this weekend. In the meantime, here's a poem I wrote a few years back.

Have a great weekend!

Journey into the Unknown

I am walking down this road,
My soul burdens a heavy load,
Nowhere I look do I see,
The right place for me.

Present day makes no sense,
Past days leaves me tense,
Traveling down the road,
Lost and nowhere to go.

I look to the clouds so high,
Watch the birds as they fly,
Wonder what it’s like to be,
To be simple and free.

Both feet stride along the ground,
Even as my mind twirls around,
Thinking of nothing at all,
I stumble and take a fall.

Extract my body while in plight,
Soul gives an indescribable fight,
Slowly I weep a tear,
Though never looking back in fear.

I am walking down the road,
My soul burdens a heavy load,
Paradise is my destiny,
The right place for me.

Hello My Friend

Listen to the gentle rhythm of the rain
Reminds me of a dear friend
Never taking all in vain
Listen for the silent message it sends.

There is no better choice
For the truth in thy eyes
And wisdom in thy voice
Gives no reason to ever question why.

Always someone to count on
Especially in the time of need
Someone as gentle as a fawn
A true friend indeed.

You may not know of the inspiration
That you can give, or receive
Hope for tomorrow helps ease the sorrow
Now a reason to believe.

A fascinating stimulation of the mind
Hopelessly losing all track of time
Peace and comfort never hard to find
Words spoken beautifully as a wind chime.

The memories will be fond
For the future will always remember yester-year
Never feeling lost, always a special bond
A true friend is always near.

This Moment

Touch the sky with the color so blue
Lay amongst the clouds so high
I dream of things I can’t do
If only, I give a sigh

Sun warms my solemn face
Warmth permeates my soul
Comforting as a gentle embrace
Depleting all effects of the cold

Wind calmly brushes my face
Gently assuring the illusion is true
Certainty this is the place
Rouses feelings I once knew

Sunlight glistens from atop the snow so white
For a moment I close my eyes
Today will be today however trite
If only, I give a sigh

Monday Morning Prayer

I think over again my small adventures.
My fears.
Those small ones that seemed so big.

For all the vital things
I had to get and to reach.

And yet there is only one great thing.
The only thing.

To live to see the great day that dawns
And the light that fulfills the world.

My Girl

A poem I wrote for my wife back in 1996.

My Girl

Someday soon as the new day dawns,
The leaves will be as green as a spring day,
The seeds of this mans dreams stay close to the tree.

Some always talk about the birds and the bees
Others talk about being footloose and fancy free.

Only few know of the wonders and joys,
Pretty girls and the rough cut boys.

I myself only think about one who compares to none,
She has the heart I have won.

She is as radiant as a bright summers day.
Also possesses the spark to light my soul,
Two as one make us whole.

Someday soon as the new day dawns
The leaves will be as colorful as fall
The seeds of this man dreams will be a tree big and tall.

Snow in July

It's hot today, muggy and typical for an Indiana July. So here is something I wrote a few years back to help cool you off.

Snowy Daydream

So beautiful yet so concise
Always unique and never two alike
Free to travel with the wind
Finding one another in the end
Swirls of wind give them flight
Well into the day and through the night
Continually they fall from the heaven above
Gently floating as if on wings of a dove
Sunlight through the clouds at last
Radiant perceptions the sun has cast
Creating a wonderland from the barren and cold
A beautiful scene before my eyes does unfold
Millions have arrived covertly with the night
Seemingly nonchalant with their impending plight
The sun warms the surrounding air
Forthwith delivering destiny without a care
Memories of this morning will appease my fears
Wondrous joys the snow yields each year.
