Post Holiday Update

**sighs**

January 5th 2012 and September 25 2006 now have something in common. Yes, I had another heart episode but this time they're are not sure IF a heart attack occurred. I did have a previous stent that was over 95% blocked and with a new one placed, I am healed. Well sort of...coronary heart disease is a disease and is an ongoing battle to stay ahead of the game.

That morning after work I had the usual routine of coming home, watching some tv with the family, coffee, breakfast, medicines, etc... I laid down around 9:30 am right after the wife left for a doctors appointment. My sister-in-law was here babysitting Lil Man so I could slumber. About 9:45 I didn't feel quite right and decided to take my blood pressure. It was 160/100 so I took a few minutes to relax myself. I took my blood pressure again and it hadn't changed so I took a nitro pill, which usually knocks the blood pressure down instantly. However this time, the BP had risen to 170/100.

I got dressed in sweats and a tee shirt and headed out to the living room. I told my SIL to hang up the phone and take my BP. She did and it was still 170/100. She immediately called 911 upon my request. The ball was set in motion...calling the wife, getting my wallet, getting the dogs put up and getting Lil Man situated. By the time the paramedics got there, I was having pains in my neck, jaw and chest. BP was 190/130 and 4 nitro sprays with 4 baby aspirin didn't do anything. Now I'm getting worried...

The ride in the ambulance was uneventful as no sirens, blowing stop lights or anything. Now silly as this might sound, this calmed me allot! While the bP was still elevated the fact no sirens or rushing was a sign things weren't about to escalate to serious. I will say the young paramedic didn't help my BP any as she was cute and giggled at my silly jokes.

The emergency room was about as exciting as the ambulance ride. Spoke to quite a few doctors and nurses telling the same story over and over. At one point the put nitro paste on my chest and again, didn't counter-act the high BP. A heart doctor came in while my dad was there and asked why I was sweating. I responded I had no idea as I was laying perfectly still. Well DUH...we all know sweating is a sign! I mean serious sweating here people. He laughed and said he knew why, he just wanted to see if I knew. He explained I'd be receiving angioplasty to see what all the excitement was about. This was around 11 am, as far as I can remember. Next thing I know I'm being prepped and readied for the procedure. I don't really remember much about that except when they opened the blocked artery, my body felt a warm rush.

The rest was all a blur as it seemed to happen so quickly. I spent two days in the hospital and received the greatest care. The nurses were great and made me as comfortable as possible.

All seriousness aside, Lil Man made the comment of the year. While the paramedics were hooking up the ekg machine, Lil Man asked, "Why are they hooking you up to a microwave? Are you that hungry? I get you a poptart and some juice."

So there you have it folks...my New Year started off with a bang! Change of medications and my BP is now 90/60 resting and I'm feeling better each day. I still have along way to recovery, both mentally and physically. The lingering question of my mortality isn't as prevalent as last time. More so the question of "I thought I was ok after the first one?" Well I soon found out after a follow-up visit and a stern lecture its an ongoing process. I have my moments of intelligence and wisdom but I have twice as many times of ignorance and blindness. I'm now trying to merge the two into one and fight this battle head on!

A Two Year Anniversary, kinda

Do not go gentle into that good night,
Old age should burn and rave at close of day;
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.
Though wise men at their end know dark is right,
Because their words had forked no lightning they
Do not go gentle into that good night.
Good men, the last wave by, crying how bright
Their frail deeds might have danced in a green bay,
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.
Wild men who caught and sang the sun in flight,
And learn, too late, they grieved it on its way,
Do not go gentle into that good night.
Grave men, near death, who see with blinding sight
Blind eyes could blaze like meteors and be gay,
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.
And you, my father, there on the sad height,
Curse, bless, me now with your fierce tears, I pray.
Do not go gentle into that good night.
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

- Dylan Thomas,
Do Not Go Gentle into that Good Night

Although my near-death experience was two years ago today, there is virtually not a day that goes by that I am not aware of making decisions based on that experience.

By no means was this a near death experience. Not by the recounts of near death survivors. I somehow cheated death, the Grim Reaper was on a coffee break at 8:25 pm September 25, 2006. The feeling of calm and not panic, reflecting back now, kept the Grim Reaper at bay. No sign of weakness yet signs of strength and enlightenment. I was not scared during my 4 hours of emergency room, trauma room, ambulance ride and angioplasty procedure. Yes I felt tension and apprehension of actually surviving the heart attack. See, I am the youngest of men on my mothers side to actually have a heart attack let alone survive one. Most of the men have died between ages 50-60 of coronary heart disease. I felt calmness that I've never experienced during a personal emergency. As if I knew that if I panicked, my life would cease to exist.

I had a blockage in two of my heart arteries. Most of this is for my medical type readers. lol The most severe blockage (100%) was in the junction of right coronary artery and the posterior descending artery. This required 2 stents to allow proper blood flow. The second artery is the circumflex artery. This is blocked approximately 70-90% and will be reopened on October 12th. Yes, I asked why not both at once? Plain and simple explanation, it woulda killed me. Who am I to question that answer? Originally posted here.

The moment they opened the arteries, I felt a warm rush of life cursing through my body. The warmth of extended life and a sense of being reborn. I have a second chance in life to accomplish the tasks set before me. What that purpose and meaning for a second chance is still elusive, although I will know my task when its completed. But when its completed, then what is planned for me? That is a question I'd rather not have answered and remain one of the mysteries of life.

There are some regrets of that night, and those that are curious can cruise the archives to find it. I've moved past that portion of my life and have actually accepted that mistakes happen, and nothing I had control over. I have often thought of death, and I find it the least of all evils.

I think somehow this blog is just a gathering place on my journey. It is interesting how we wash back and forth across each other's lives here. Seemingly like the waves of the sea washing upon the beach. The sea leaving little gifts of magic and life. All things relying on one another, one without the other becomes a non-existent force. Sometimes the veil becomes lifted and I see you in me and me in you. Souls intertwined amongst all souls until when the last soul looks into the face of love and doesn't turn their back, all souls are one. This intertwining of souls and love is the purest form of friendship. A friendship void of the senses we typically base a friendship. This friendship is based upon our abilities to portray ourselves in a virtual world, of who we are based upon what moralities and beliefs we practice. And our abilities to encounter the gems glittering with the same moralities and beliefs. And nurturing this friendship through the trials and tribulations we call life.

I think over again my small adventures.
My fears.
Those small ones that seemed so big.

For all the vital things
I had to get and to reach.

And yet there is only one great thing.
The only thing.

To live to see the great day that dawns
And the light that fulfills the world.

Editors Note:
I tried to equal the post from last year, reflecting upon a one year anniversary. And truthfully, nothing has changed the last year except I've learned to accept reality a bit more. So the only editing done to the original post was changing one year to two years.
=============

Life may have no meaning or possibly its a mixed blessing. Life is purely a matter of deciding what's important to you. You succeed in life based upon what you judge a success. The real loser in life is one who believes he's lost when he hasn't. There is no winner or loser in life. There is no finish line or throngs of fans to rejoice. To fear life is to spread a cancerous disease among those that view life as a win. I invite any person who wishes to cower in the corner to join me for a minute and howl at the moon.

And each post I create and you faithful friends consume, I realize that we all howl in a synchronized harmonious chorus. You returning faithfully is a blessing for me. A world where a virtual friend can transcend the daily horrors we must endure to prove again that my doubts of a seemingly reckless human nature is completely unsubstantiated, even if for a fleeting moment. It shows me the world is still filled with sheep in wolves clothing.

I can explain life in six words...Reality sucks and life goes on.

And Yet Again

Main Entry: hy•poc•ri•sy
Pronunciation: hi-'pä-kr&-sE also hI-
Function: noun
Inflected Form(s): plural -sies
Etymology: Middle English ypocrisie, from Anglo-French, from Late Latin hypocrisis, from Greek hypokrisis act of playing a part on the stage, hypocrisy, from hypokrinesthai to answer, act on the stage, from hypo- + krinein to decide
1 : a feigning to be what one is not or to believe what one does not; especially : the false assumption of an appearance of virtue or religion
2 : an act or instance of hypocrisy

This word alone has generated numerous varieties of the definition. “There’s the pot calling the kettle black, What is good for the goose is good for the gander, He/she walks on water and my all-time favorite from childhood; Do as I say not as I do”.

And yet still today I find myself being a hypocrite on many subjects. I am trying to change but many obstacles and reprogramming of my thought processes must occur. It’s going to take time and I’m willing to invest the effort and in return expect those around me to succumb to my theories and beliefs. So I decided after my ordeal in September 2006 that the hypocrisy of those physically around me should be maintained at a level within the boundaries of my stress levels. In layman’s terms, rid myself of those that are hypocritical. And so the purging has commenced on a grand scale yet matched by anyone I know.

While I’ve not actually “exterminated” anyone, I’m purging in a manner that cannot be judged or scientifically given measurable statistics. Actually, those being purged because of their hypocritical stances probably won’t even notice. It’s more of an internal purging. Yes, it’s achievable if one attempts. And yes it’s downsized my stress levels immensely. And it’s also lifted a huge burden off my shoulders. I always “stressed” over why someone doesn’t do this or why someone didn’t do that. Now it’s just a mere thought that is generated and then deleted. It wastes my time to ponder such thoughts which really have no bearing on becoming justified.

So it shall be written, so it shall be done!

Many have desecrated and dishonored the Golden Rule: Do unto others as you would have them do unto you. And so it shall be written and declared on this day, June 4th of the year 2008 that those who wish to be treated like royalty, friends and family shall reciprocate lest ye be banished from my kingdom.

And others have desecrated the Ten Commandments. I am lenient on many subjects and levels of these commandments. But there is one in particular that remains steadfast within my morals and practices. And so it shall be written and declared on this day, June 4th of the year 2008 that those who wish to be treated like family and friends shall adhere to these commandments lest ye be banished from my kingdom.

Henceforth and forevermore, those privileged to be within my circle of trust shall remain as given by these rules declared on this day, June 4th of the year 2008.

Can I Reach 20,000 by 5 pm EST?

There are moments in life that we find ourselves at a crossroad. The choices we make define us and build the foundation of our future. Lost and afraid, most of us would choose to remain firmly planted, a comfort zone where everything is predictable. Once in a while, some people push beyond the pain of sacrifice and going it alone. Somewhere beyond the quiet persistence of a dream lies the bravery and courage it takes. The bravery and courage needed to follow your dreams. And it's only when you're tested that you discover who you can be. The person you want to be does exist, somewhere on the other side of hard work, faith and belief; beyond heartache of failure and the fanfare of triumph.

Dazd acknowledges these sacrifices and commendable traits within my fellow bloggers. I would like each and every one of you to follow your dreams and hopefully live life happily thereafter. It's okay to let yourself be happy because you never know how fleeting that moment of happiness might be. I know this all too well. This blog has given me the bravery and courage to branch out into unknown territories with co-hosting several shows and starting a new show myself. I've also met new friends face-to-face that 3 years ago, I wouldn't have even dared to attend let alone plan such an event. It's because of your continued support that I've evolved into the person I am today.

Have you ever wondered if one life can really make an impact on the world or if the choices you make matter? I believe so...the proof is right here with my readers and blogger family.

A Year in Review, 2007

2007 has been a year filled with joys and disappointments, reminiscent of years past yet interestingly distinct. 2006 brought about a life altering event that even today still remains apart of my thoughts and guides me along my journey.
And yet this event has also brought about hardships, while pale in comparison to the alternative outcome, these hardships truly have tested my beliefs and character. And I’m not ashamed to admit that I have failed a couple of these tests. One I failed because of my naïve beliefs and one from a purely selfish reasons. While both have produced a void which may never be healed they have also taught me a valuable lesson.

I have also seen many a victory throughout 2007. First and foremost, I am alive. There can be no greater victory any thought conscious being can ever be awarded. To rise each day and to bed down each night is truly a victory we take for granted. I, for one, do not take this victory for granted. I am witnessing my son maturing into a young man. And while the trials and tribulations raising a child can bring, there are no words for the overwhelming pride one is consumed with on a daily basis. For an 11 year old boy, he has been my crutch at times throughout the year. And for this I am thankful.

I have also made many a new friendship and rekindled friendships from years gone by. Whether the friendship is real life or a virtual person, the friendship is important nonetheless. And just recently a few of those virtual friendships have become real life. And for that I am truly blessed. These friends have blessed me with daily conversations that while some will debate they are only words, those words somehow bring about a comfort. A comfort of knowing that no matter what hand life deals me, I can always find emotions, resolutin and understanding within their words. People can read words and understand the content, but for a person to read and understand the person is a gift.

I have started a journey down a path to which I do not know where it leads. And for those who know me, this is a very unlikely trait for me. But over the past few months, a soulful yearning is pressing me to discover myself and reenergize my spirit. I have embraced this journey and am willingly walking this path. And during this journey it was brought to my attention that Dazed and Confuzed (dazdnconfzd in chats) was no longer equivalent to my personality. So after much debate, I am changing my chat screen login to AmazdnDazd, or Amazed and Dazed. I won’t be changing the name of this blog or anything already associated with Dazed and Confuzed. That would lead to mass confusion and that’s not my goal to achieve during my journey. However, you may see a shift in the polarity of my universe. A shift has already begun as some long time readers and friends have hopefully seen. The newer friends and readers will begin to notice as the year of 2008 progresses.

And as tradition here at Dazd Central, I am doing some housecleaning. Many have desecrated and dishonored the Golden Rule: Do unto others as you would have them do unto you. And so it shall be written and declared on this day, December 28th of the year 2007 that those who wish to be treated like royalty, friends and family shall reciprocate lest ye be banished from my kingdom.

And others have desecrated the Ten Commandments. I am lenient on many subjects and levels of these commandments. But there is one in particular that remains steadfast within my morals and practices. And so it shall be written and declared on this day, December 28th of the year 2007 that those who wish to be treated like family and friends shall adhere to these commandments lest ye be banished from my kingdom.
Henceforth and forevermore, those privileged to be within my circle of trust shall remain as given by these rules declared on this day, December 28th of the year 2007.

There is so much good in the worst of us,
And so much bad in the best of us,
That it hardly becomes any of us
To talk about the rest of us.
~Edward Wallis Hoch

And don’t worry dear friends and readers, if you’re reading this you shall remain apart of my kingdom, unless you give me a reason! lol

I think over again my small adventures.
My fears.
Those small ones that seemed so big.

For all the vital things
I had to get and to reach.

And yet there is only one great thing.
The only thing.

To live to see the great day that dawns
And the light that fulfills the world.

Wednesday's Reflection

It's been a long year here at Dazd Central. Well, not quite a year but with my lack of writing I decided I should start early. That way if I forget or miss it, its already covered.

Long time readers and good friends will remember September 25th of last year. No its not a day that will live in infamy or be recorded in history books. Rather its a quiet day that quickly slipped from normalcy into oblivion. You can read about it starting here.

My life changed that fateful night. Many lives changed on 9/11 and so did mine. But this night changed immensely on how I relate to life and respect what life has to offer. Yes I coined the phrase "Reality sucks and life goes on..." many years ago. 1987 to be exact. At that moment nothing mattered more than living. Living to see my son grow into a man, living to see grandchildren someday, living to enjoy friends and most of all living to experience life in a whole new way. Things that changed that I'm regretting, amusement parks, good old fashioned food, and one regret I'll have for eternity. And who could forget the quiet friend who kept everyone updated, and actually became a blog son. Many thanks to DNR for keeping friends updated.

I also had support from online friends...many many friends. Too many to recall and I'd hate to forget anyone. You all have a place in my heart and always will.

Update from the doctors appointments I've had the last 2 weeks. Cholesterol is elevated again with the total of 204 with the HDL (good cholesterol) at 42. Triglycerides are elevated at 209 so my Crestor will be increased to 20 mg with a follow-up test 6 weeks away. Heart doctor said its still ticking and sounds great. however, my BP is averaging a little high at 130/85. Yea not too high but he's worried given everything thats happened. So my BP med dosage has been increased. I've also gained ummm some poundage and need to shed that back off. Yes I'm a slacker when it coes to that part but I still eat healthy just need to watch my consumption. Oh and I need to exercise too...errrr...more.

I also want to thank each and everyone of you who stood by me during my heart attack. Amazingly enough it helped immensely providing my comfort and proving once again online friendships can make a difference. I also want to thank each and everyone of you who read my ramblings and have patiently waited for me to "write" again. Yes I realize this blog provides comical releif but lately its lacking both ingredients to which I started this blog. 1. To write 2. To provide laughter and reflection.

So now you have the reflection and Monday had the laughter. My job for the week in complete.

Memorable Moment

Date: September 1984
Location: Central Indiana

This year was a memorable year as I graduated high school, had a full time job and owned a 1968 Mustang. What a sweet ride that car was especially during warm weather. It was your basic Mustang with nothing fancy added. I wasn't into chrome parts, especially chromed rims or anything like most people enjoy. Nope...just appreciated the beauty of a classic stock car from the late 60's. Yes I had my eye on a '67 Camaro but decided I didn't want a muscle car. I wanted a car that was sleek yet when needed could pull an 1/8 mile run worthy of any competitor. Metaphorically, a wolf in sheeps clothing.

The only thing that wasn't stock was the sound system. Sweet! I don't remember all the makes and models, but I'll tell you people heard me coming 1/4 mile away. lol I had a Pioneer AM/FM Cassette stereo connected to a 10 band equalizer/100 amplifier. Of course I had two speakers just to handle all that juice. When it was cranked, the car vibrated and you were basically deaf for days. And just so you know, I've not grown out of that love for thundering tunes properly equalized. There is nothing like it...

One evening cruising through back country roads I had Van Halen's album 1984 blaring. "Panama" rocked and so did "Top Jimmy" along with all the other great songs. Like who can forget, amongst us guys, the video for "Hot for Teacher"? Not only did the song kick a$$ but the video did as well. I came thundering into a small town about 20 miles south of Indianapolis and barely slowed down from my cruising speed of 50 mph. I knew the townspeople so I wasn't worried about getting a ticket...Grandma knew the town marshall. He and I had been fishing many times and were friends albeit different generations. As I came into the center of town I slowed down to navigate the treacherous railroad crossing. I slowed down to 40 mph and braced myself for a bumpy crossing. Music is still thundering and I'm singing away!

I never heard the train whistle nor looked both ways before roaring across. It wasn't until my back-end lost traction and I spun 180 degrees did I see the train. The wind force of the train moving at 60 mph spun my '68 'Stang around like it was a Matchbox car. I even found a scratch on my trunks backside that came from the train. I light scratch as if I'd been keyed. I surmized it came from something on the train. Actually I didn't want to know...

Ever since that day, each railroad crossing I come to I make sure my radio is turned down and I look both ways. Even if Van Halens "Top Jimmy" is playing...

Saturday Ramblings

Damn good thing the weekend is here. It's a beautiful day outside and I've lots to accomplish. It seems I can never finish my projects. Yes I realize procrastination plays a small role...ok a large role but I'm hopeful todays chores will be completed in a timely manner.

There was a place and time I lived for staying busy. I was so overwhelmed with projects and social committments that others figured I never slept. But I lived for this...its what kept me alive. And now...not so much. I keep busy and sometimes overwhelm myself. But I've learned, especially after last September, that I occassionally need serious down time. And this down time allows me to recharge my batteries, clear my head and reduce stress levels.

This weekend its just me and the dog. The family went away this weekend and will return on Sunday. Yes I miss them already and wish I would've went along, but I needed my down time. So the dog and I enjoyed breakfast this morning, her with dog food and a treat and I with a bagel with cream cheese. I politely asked if she'd share her breakfast and I was quickly awarded with "The Look". I'm now certain the missus has been teaching the dog some of her tricks.

After completing my chores today, I have a guys movie day all planned. I plan on watching Saving Private Ryan followed by Braveheart finishing with either The Outlaw Josey Wales or The Dog Whisperer. We'll see just how much of "The Look" the missus has taught this dog.

Have a great weekend and make sure to check out all the NEW links in the blogroll. Not quite a gazillion added yet but last count was a bazillion. I'm not finished adding them yet...so keep checking back for new ones. And as always, I'm sure you won't be disappointed with my selections for you, my dear readers.

An Unexpected Rambling

They say that bad things come in groups of three. And I believe this to some degree, just not to the degree that some people pay reverence. We all have our old wives tales and superstitious beliefs we hold true.

I think "bad things come in groups of three" to be a pessimistic tale. I prefer to be optimistic this week and start a new tale that "good things come in groups of three". Now who out there can't resist a set of triplet children all dressed in the same adorable outfit? Anyone?...you in da back there...WAKE UP!

Or how about three cute adorable ducklings waddling across the path? Or maybe $3,000,000 dollars you won playing the lottery? A buy 2 get 1 free sale? See...all these bring a smile to your face and it washes away whatever dark cloud the day brings. And no matter how hard we try we still try and look at the pessimistic aspect of life. It's human nature...

So today... sitting in my office close to quitting time... reading blogs... trying to watch my time so I didn't run past my glorious 8-5 time frame(cough)... I read three blogs simultaneously that not only brought a smile to my face but lifted my spirits. It was a random act of cruising my blogroll looking for sites to visit. No rhyme or reason why I read those particular three...fate maybe? And when I finished reading all thee blogs I spent the next 45 minutes driving home reflecting on what I'd read. And exactly how did these posts effect me? I'm not too sure except they fired up my thoughts. And then it dawned on me why my thoughts were running rampant. No no no...the drugs didn't wear off silly.

All three posts reflected my sentiments today. The inner voices were speaking today about events the past few weeks. Trying to bring a sense of order to chaos. I gave up long ago trying to determine the meaning of life. Life is what we make of it and our actions or inactions have a direct effect on the balance of the universe. And then you come across three posts that snap you back into reality and give you a sense of peace and closure. And it is that feeling that drives me to read blogs daily. To seek out new avenues of experience and knowledge that might otherwise not be readily available. Do I need to visit all of the blogs daily? Not really...don't take offense to this statement. Can any of you honestly say that you visit over 50 blogs daily while working and playing spouse and/or parent? I'd be lying if I said yes...but I make a valiant effort. Yes I have my daily haunts and then I have my weekly visits. But I visit because there is something about your writing, personality, style, charm, humor, reflections, etc...that strikes a chord within me.

The three posts I read today you ask? Oh I could be a tease and grumpily tell you to visit all the sites on my blogroll and figure it out for yourself, oh intelligent ones. But this post is about optimism not pessimism. And why should I horde all the great posts to myself? That's not who I am or what I'm about. I share what I find since we reap what we sow. I am optimism today...hear me roar! Something like that...

Tuesday Ramblings

Some Ramblings for today, sorry there’s no Offbeat Tuesday.

Friends: Have you ever considered, among the grand scheme of life, exactly how friends can come and go yet still remain apart of our thoughts? People have said to me: “Why don’t you call or write more often, I thought we were friends.” I don’t see the necessity to constantly badger someone for attention. Well, except for my link whoring, I’m not an attention whore. I have people I still consider friends and not just acquaintances. Once someone is established as my friend, they remain so for eternity. Only when one disrespects, insults or plainly develops a sense and style of ignorance will they be considered a mere acquaintance. So don’t theorize if I don’t initiate communication that I don’t think any less of a person then the time we last spoke. Friends are a commodity to be cherished for a lifetime. Not one that a lifetime should be spent trying to achieve.

Dedication/Commitment: Before my heart attack, I participated daily in a volunteer activity. I won’t disclose this activity, as I still want to retain anonymity, but let’s say that its one I hope to never use but if/when I do, it will be for the sake of others. But when does the dedication cross that invisible line between what you can do and what you want to do? I obviously had illusions of grandeur for returning immediately to my activity. That was quickly shattered by my first trip to cardio rehab. And later it was compounded by the cold weather. But now that I’ve returned to a part-time status, I feel others may see this as a scapegoat. So I’ve decided that if the posturing and childish antics continue, then I’ll lose my temper and damn them for eternity. And in the same breath remove myself from that situation.

I once took my son fishing. His first time actually, just Dazd Jr. and Dad. What a grand time we had and he learned some valuable fishing tips from this esteemed and well-respected fisherman. Ok Ok You there in the back…stop laughing, ok? Anyways, as I showed him how to tie a hook with a knot, attach a sinker and bobber, baiting of the hook, proper motion for casting and proper patience etiquette for fishing, I turned to him and asked, “Any questions Dazd Jr?” He calmly replied, “Yes Dad, why is the inside of my mouth wet?”

Sunday Rambling

I hope everyone had an enjoyable weekend. The weather was perfect here in Indiana. 80's with sunshine both days and only a spattering of rain. I got a list of things accomplished this weekend. Dazd Jr. and I attacked the yard and completed it today. We started yesterday and took our time. Folks...I don't care what the doc says, I'm not able to mow like I used too. I also got our haircuts and finally made it grocery shopping. I also finished and passed 4 online exams this weekend! Yay me!

And so my readers are aware, mostly for the newer ones, I had suffered a heart attack back September 2006. That's why I was worried when my BP was up. I'm on BP meds and thinners under a doctors supervision. Plus my cholesterol I'm taking Crestor, 2000 mg Omega 3 daily and watching my diet. Well...watching yes, thats my story for now. I've strayed here and there but not eating unhealthy like I had been pre-Septemeber 2006. Only thing I have added to my diet is trail mix. It's a vice...lol. I guess I'm gonna have to return to the gym.

I like the playlist I put together this weekend. I'm going to put a few more together. If you missed the original posting, go take a listen here.

If you are interested in listening to a Paramormal Radio Show visit here. Sunday's at 10 pm EST and Thursdays at 9 pm EST. I'm working on those links, for those of you that showed an interest. May just do them as a post for now. I'm working on getting tags added here soon. 300 some odd posts should be easy right? Right? Hello?!?!? So once I figure all that out, you'll be able to read all my posting by topic.

Ok...I'm outta here to fix dinner.

Patriot Guard

The night slowly turns to dawn as the sunrise crawls cautiously over the barren black path. Calm embraces the moment as a gentle breeze quietly ruffles the landscape. The air is crisp and chases the warmth from the skin. Off in the distance a rumbling can be heard, stirring both creature and man alike. All eyes face the East in preparation of the suns warming embrace. And yet the rumbling grows ever louder and breaks the eerie silence. And from the East a glint of light breaks the horizon. Dancing in unison with the sunlight as it shatters the darkness. And then another glint flickers along the horizon. All too soon the horizon is alive with flashes as the rumble gains strength. And just as quickly the flashes cease and they form a looming shadow cascading through the countryside.

The shadow gains momentum as it descends upon the unknowing people. The rumbling transforms into a dull roar as the shadowy beast advances. The wind carries an ominous odor, familiar yet strange. All eyes are still affixed upon the sun, mesmerized by the shadowy beast emerging from the horizon and the sun devours the crisp air. Nervously they shuffle in place frozen by indecisiveness.

The sun and the shadowy beast close the distance rapidly. Finally from the shadows an image appears, bringing with it a soothing calm for the people. For in this image waves gallantly the colors of red, white and blue. As the beast’s image shatters into fragments, the ten riders began their formation. The ominous smell is quickly recognized as a mix of leather and fuel. The senses are alive and working spontaneously to process all the information. The rumbling increases as these brave guardians of the patriotic brethren thunder past on steel horses. King Arthur and his Knights of the Round Table returning triumphant from battle and weary from the ride maintain formation until their ceremonious journey pauses. From this day forward a bond has been forged. Acknowledgement of this bond is unspoken, exchanged only by a hand shake and the familiar gaze within their eyes. A sense of honor and respect envelops the crowd, intensified by each handshake. And when the honor, respect and gratitude is validated, the guardians climb upon their steel horses. As the guardians thunder into the distance escorting their new brethren, the rumble turns into a ceremonious cannonade. The final journey home of our patriotic brethren will be forever engrained within the memories of both fellowships.

From this day to the ending of the world we in it shall be remembered. We lucky few, we band of brothers. For he who today rides by my side and stands by these courageous brethren with me, shall be my brother. And he who rides with foot pegs down, shall forever be embraced by our fallen heroes, patriotic and guardian alike. Let no man paint abstract lectures of this bond nor cast stones upon glass houses. And with this, no man shall break the bond between the guardians and the patriotic brethren.

Rocks in my Head

What is the fascination with rocks? Rocks seem to be the typical boys dream of fortune. Rock collecting during it's infancy consists of acquiring every rock of shape, size and color. I was no different...

During my childhood years into my teen years, I was fascinated with rocks. I could spend hours looking through pea-size gravel for that magical looking rock. I could spend the same amount of hours in the driveway finding the perfect relic. 5 gallon buckets filled with my fortune littered the garage. I couldn't let those rocks suffer the elements you know. If I was particularly bored on any given afternoon, I'd pour a bucket into the driveway and search. Yes...it was the same rocks but that wasn't the point.

I even fancied fossil's for a short time. I had accompanied my Dad to a science type exhibition at a local school. And that's where I learned of fossils. I bought a couple of those fossils and I believe they are still located within my parent's house. I spent many hours dreaming of finding fossils and daydreaming of how dinosaurs roamed the Earth. I was fascinated with Dr. Leaky and his exploits with finding fossilized remains of early humans.

Sunday night I was watching the Travel Channel and a show grabbed my attention. The show is called "The Best Places to Find Cash and Treasures" and if you're into rocks and gem hunting, this show is for you. While watching the show, a flood of childhood memories rumbled through my thoughts. Especially when they were looking for geodes. I can still see myself sitting there with a hammer trying to crack open a round rock in search of diamonds. Geode it's not but the enthusiasm is all the same.

My fascination ceased when Earth Science class studied Geology. A rock is a rock I used to tell myself. And a hill is a hill as well as a valley is a valley. It became too complicated for my pea-sized brain. I gave it a valiant effort because I seriously was deciding if Geology or Anthropology was in my future. My simpleton ways clouded my judgement and I chose another journey. I only wanted to find the cool stuff, I didn't much care for the details. Give me a pick, hand trowel and brush!

My son also has a fascination with rocks, even from an early age. I foresee in my future rock hunting expeditions along with his new metal detector he got for Christmas. Even if I can further his enjoyment with my simpleton ways or further his knowledge thru experience, it'll be worthwhile spending those bonding moments.

Real vs. Antagonism

I thank you for the comments concerning this post. I agree that someone shouldn't cower in regards to an "unidentified antagonist". My question is when does the antagonism evolve into a real threat?

Dogs who bark loudly seldom bite.

People should care less about what others think or fantasize about, even though some of them are disturbed enough to /speak out/ their fantasies publically. I feel sorry for them.

Fear of death is deeply rooted in us humans. It is funny how some cultures frown upon even mentioning death, as if not admitting that death exists would erase the fact that it's inevitable. Some nut with a loose tongue says some WORDS and people tremble in fear. Right now, somebody who posted threats is having an orgasm because people with psychological issues are fueled by the reacting emotions of their victim.

Antagonism becomes a threat when it becomes personal. Personal on the level on detailing one's life patterns, employment, family, etc... When the antagonist can detail these things in writing or verbally, it becomes real. Each of us will respond in ways we consider appropriate, although others will disagree. That's when the government and law officials should intervene.

And after reviewing the site linked on the original post, a few commentors regarded this as a gender attack. Well maybe so but a threat is a threat. And it's documented that any gender can pose a threat. We should all remember the blogosphere's reaction to threats made against Jeff Goldstein's child. And of course the ever continuing saga of sue/counter sue. I spent a few minutes and found these links. I did find a few links with updates to this saga but unfortunately they have been removed.

Site #3

Threats do exist in real life and in the virtual world of cyber. We must all develop thick skin to endure these hardships. My only question is when does the government take seriously the victims rights? If someone hacks a website today, are they prosecuted the same as someone who firebombs your house? Or a media building?

As I once told an antagonist, "You can beat the crap out of me today, but you had better be ready tomorrow. I'll be back tomorrow and the next day and the day after that...until I get it right. So unless you want to see me daily, I'd suggest you back the fluck off!" It worked.

Any thoughts?

The List

There are events taking place that we cannot really understand. As children we are programmed to accept certain events or instances as idiotic or misguided. We talk privatley about them to ourselves or to a trusted individual. But we never cover the subjects within a group for fear of persecution. It's how we've been programmed from our earliest childhood development stages. And history is full of these scenarios playing out again and again, different players and scenarios but the reaction is the same.

I have this ability that I believe runs through my family from past generations. From my earliest childhood I recall events taking place and not understanding them, I asked questions of the adults surrounding me. Only one person, possibly two, truly understood what my questions were. And it wasn't until my late teens that the discussions took place without really saying it. There have been many events in my life that have left me dazzled if not puzzled. And simply, whether you believe in these abilities or not, they do occur within my realm of existence.

I have premonition dreams. They are capable of a very detailed nature and play out at a later unspecified time, exactly to detail. There are capable of message bearing types not necessarily detailed but the event does take place. The players in the premonition may not be exact but its all relevant.

Can I predict the future? No..there is no timestamp, relevance to dates or time frames. Just that it will happen. I don't even know what dreams will happen and which ones won't until the event occurs. It's all very puzzling and sometimes I've thought my sanity was teetering. But it's real and I have learned to accept it.

Why am I explaining this to the blogosphere? I cannot explain why but merely I feel compelled to deliver my message, even if through some anonymity. And to also give you, my dear readers, another insight into my dealings with death. I must confess I didn't see "the light" or any visions of my maker. I don't believe I ever passed out and I never saw any burn marks where defibrilation was given. But rather I dealt with death in a much calmer tone. As sense of reality and common sense interwoven like a fine blanket. Yes I have thanked my maker many times over. I have changed my life, not only physically and mentally but spiritually as well. And by spiritually, I'm not suggesting I've become a religious person overnight. That day is coming. I do believe in my maker and hold him the highest regard.

Spiritually I am referring to believing those events that surround me as factual. I am also accepting the fact of my previous events as true and accepting them as well. I am not denying them anymore nor am I going to persue them to extend its relevance. I am accepting them for what they are and what they tell me.

There is a list I have scribed. The list is tucked away someplace safe. I will know when I should review this list to inventory the players. And if all the players are present, I know my destiny. You see, this list was generated one week before my heart attack. This list was generated out of unexplained compulsion. The list played out in my dream. The players were real and they all spoke of past discussions I'd had with each one regarding death. The players have all deceased and all are with their maker. Yet the reason I was calm and sensible about what was taking place revolved around the fact that one person was missing from my dream. When the event was happening, I realized my dream was unfolding. The puzzling dream suddenly set reality into motion. And since that person is not on my list or in my dreams, that person will remain my guardian and teller of truth in my dreams. The person I spoke of death very early in life.

Do You Control Your Life?

I have been debating this question for some years now. Everyone has an opinion and none are right or wrong. The easiest answer I can give: To control one's surroundings. Our society, as a whole, has regressed to the point of letting our surrounding dictate our reaction. Our reaction, for the most part, is very predictable. We learn as children what reactions are expected to any given situation. But as we become adults, we find that the world is full of reality that we’ve never experienced. Thus we start the learning cycle all over again. As we continually learn from our experiences, life becomes a bit less demanding and easier to control. But our behavioral pattern is already set. All we do is build upon this and change as the situations arise. The patterns are apart of our personalities. They mold our very being and we find that reaction is spontaneous, influential and uncontrolled.

We find that society has created barriers within cultural beliefs. The barriers are created when we are confronted with beliefs that are not of our own. And so we have created societies within a society. A society, as a whole, needs these barriers in order to maintain the cohesiveness.

But when do these barriers become destructive to a society? Simple: when hatred and fear is born. The hatred can sometimes lead to acts of violence against the so-called outside philosophical issues and/or beliefs. These acts of violence can be prejudice or destructive as elimination of an entire philosophical practice or belief. And as we progress into the 21st century, we find that more hatred and fear is continually born.

We also learn that certain other beliefs are considered taboo by society. What these taboos are consisted of differ from culture to culture. In today’s world, multi-cultural backgrounds are becoming more prevalent. So our perceptions of taboo have become clouded to the point of not knowing which is right or wrong. This has monumental effects for today’s society. Even now, more sub-societies are being formed within the already existing sub-societies. And so more barriers are being erected. And so the cycle continues.

At some point of this continual evolution, we reach a boiling point. When the hatred, mistrust and violence evolve to proportions never considered by mankind. What society needs to evolve to is individuality. Individuality within your thought processes can make a major impact. Not individuality as being a Supreme Being or belief that any wrong can be done. But rather individuality to create a persona that radiates humanity. And by achieving this persona, society will surely accept this to be a beneficial philosophy.

Society has learned through regressive thinking to accept what is and not what they wanted to achieve. Whatever the humanitarian persona created, they cannot cast a embracing hold onto the whole of society. What I am discussing with you is small. And by small I am referring to individuality. Individuality is what makes us unique. But if you have lost that individuality then you are no longer unique within the Sea of Reality. Is this not what we all strive for? To be unique to the point of respect and acceptance? And we all share the same dream. Any one person wants to be recognized and accepted. But this thought pattern does not always fit within the walls of the boundaries society has created. This is why your individuality far outweighs the following of thousands. For with the following of thousands comes the reaction from society. And then once again you have lost your individuality. The continual cycle...

It is my opinion that our depressive thoughts and actions have derived from the barriers we have placed within society. I am not debating the fact that certain Mental issues do exist but merely that our perception of depression is somewhat clouded. While it is a medically proven fact that our bodies change during our lifespan, it has not been proven that our changes can be dictated by our surroundings. I may be wrong about the studies, but I have yet to discuss with someone a known study to substantiate this opinion.

Is it our responsibility to lay the foundations for our youths to grow upon? Yes. But how do we build that foundation if we cannot determine our own individuality? It does not take millions of dollars to lay the proper foundation. Nor does it take poverty to create the proper foundation. What it takes is Love. Simple isn't it? But yet it is the hardest thing we as a society have to give. People have lost track of what love is all about. Now I know everyone has a different viewpoint in it's definition. But if you spend your life thinking of the proper definition, have you achieved love?

Caring, compassion, sharing and good Samaritan traits are what makes the love I am describing. If you show a child understanding and "love", then they will learn by example to pass along to the next generation. But if you conceal this aspect, how do they know what "love" really is? This is where society steps in and causes our reactions. I am always reminded of the statement: “It takes a village to raise a child”. Our society, as a whole, has lost this concept. We have become to involved with our daily lives and to busy to help those in need. And society has also been taught not to trust anyone. So much hate, mistrust, and single-minded thought patterns have clouded our judgement.

When was the last time you carried groceries for someone who was struggling? Or the last time you showed compassion to a confused child? All it takes is a minute to make a difference. Some have devoted their entire lives to helping others. This generosity is commendable but this cannot work for everyone. One minute…the time it takes to take a drink, read your mail, or watch the auto accident. But how long would it take to give a drink to someone, get their mail, or ask the person in the accident if they need help? One minute is the amount of time. Walk into a nursing home, hospital or doctors office and just walk up to someone and say hello...Spend a minute and talk. Watch the reactions transform before your eyes. Let them know that someone does care. Someone has the minute to spend with them. Who knows, maybe that’s all they wanted was a caring soul to give them the time. Can your actions influence others? Yes. What about that child that needs a smile and someone to show them kindness? The child who may be struggling with a situation or task? Take the time to show them the correct way.

And at that point YOU have made a difference. At that point, you have turned on your light and engulfed everything around you. And for this you will feel compelled to carry on generating this light. Darkness dictates our perception of our surroundings. But light dictates the darkness.

A person spends two thirds of their lives in an automobile. How much of your life have you given to show your "love"?

Memorial

I cannot bring myself to write the words so deserving of this young man. However, I fully support his dedication to serving his country and will never question the reasoning. I pray that Marlon's 3 children grow up to honor and respect all that their dad represented. Our country can use allot more good men like him.

February 1st will always be a sorrowful and joyous occassion as we celebrate the life that was and the life that is; My wife and her twin sister (Marlon's mother-in-law)celebrate their birthday on February 1st.

Halfway down the road to hell,
In a shady meadow green,
Are the souls of all dead troopers camped
Near a good old-time canteen.
And this eternal resting place
Is known as Fiddler’s Green.

So it shall be written, so it shall be done!

And this goes against my New Years Resolution. So I am trying to change but many obstacles and reprogramming of my thought processes must occur. It’s going to take time and I’m willing to invest the effort and in return expect those around me to succumb to my theories and beliefs. So I’ve actually decided after my ordeal in September that the hypocrisy of those physically around me should be maintained at a level within the boundaries of my stress levels.

And so it shall be written and declared on this day, January 17th of the year 2007 that those who wish to be treated like royalty, friends and family shall reciprocate lest ye be banished from my kingdom.

And others have desecrated the Ten Commandments. I am lenient on many subjects and levels of these commandments. But there is one in particular that remains steadfast within my morals and practices. And so it shall be written and declared on this day, January 17th of the year 2007 that those who wish to be treated like family and friends shall adhere to these commandments lest ye be banished from my kingdom.

Henceforth and forevermore, those privileged to be within my circle of trust shall remain as given by these rules declared on this day, January 17th of the year 2007.
